Located in the heart of the Midlands, AGGPRO was founded in 1996 with a mission to offer a personal, customer-centric approach to supplying equipment for the quarrying and recycling industries. While the company has grown substantially since its inception, it continues to uphold its core values to this day, with many long-standing, dedicated employees who are passionate about the service they provide. As a trusted dealer of McCloskey International, GIPO, Jonsson, McCloskey Environmental and MWS, AGGPRO brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table. Its team is committed to ensuring clients choose and maintain the most efficient machinery for their operations. Managing Director Steve Peterson tells us more about AGGPRO’s operations and services.

“AGGPRO was built from the ground up on an ethos of service and support. Rather than operating on the clock, our work finishes when the job is done, which we believe sets us apart from the competition. Since our inception, we have been awarded the GIPO dealership, allowing us to introduce premium quality, high-spec machinery previously unseen in the quarrying industry. After 23 years as the GIPO dealer, it remains one of our longest-standing partnerships. As our customer base grew, many clients who purchased GIPO impact crushers began requesting screening solutions. In response, we became the McCloskey International dealer in 2007 and began offering their screening equipment as a complementary product to our GIPO impact crushers. The launch of McCloskey’s jaw crusher line helped us expand our business further, opening new markets and attracting a customer base from smaller recycling and demolition yards.

“Last year, we were approached by SMT GB, who successfully acquired us in October 2024. It has truly been an incredible period of transformation for us. At AGGPRO, our mission has always been to provide our industry with comprehensive solutions condensed in a single machine. Brands such as GIPO and McCloskey International are renowned around the world for their reliable performance; we have built a reputation for the quality of the equipment we sell. Our goal is to offer a diverse portfolio of machinery to meet our clients’ needs, regardless of geography or application,” Steve informs.

AGGPRO’s extensive portfolio caters to a wide range of client needs, making it a key aspect of the company’s unique selling proposition. Steve details how AGGPRO’s diverse expertise gives it a competitive edge. “Our business is built on specialisation and collaboration. AGGPRO and SMT GB work together to provide a range of services, including the supply of excavators, shovels, haulers, crushers, screeners, stackers, and environmental solutions. From the moment stone is blasted in the quarry, SMT GB and AGGPRO work together to add value at every stage of the process, with each part managed by experts in their field. Where others may rely on a single team to cover a wide range of services, we believe customers achieve better results when every stage is handled by dedicated specialists. SMT GB engineers support the excavation, ensuring the material is moved efficiently and safely into the crushing and screening stage. At that point, AGGPRO applies its expertise to determine the best process for achieving the highest quality output. Once the stone has been processed, SMT GB takes over to complete the cycle. This approach allows each company to focus on what it does best, ensuring customers benefit from deep technical knowledge, seamless teamwork, and a shared commitment to service and support, from quarry face to finished product.”

In parallel with its integration into SMT GB, AGGPRO underwent a brand refresh, which Steve discusses. “We wanted to create a visual connection between SMT GB and AGGPRO. Our goal was to be aligned for customers to see that both brands are part of the same group servicing their machines. We believe this is a strategic and slick way to make that adjustment. As a result, all SMT GB vans feature a blue slash with the SMT GB branding, thus aligning with the red slash accompanying the AGGPRO logo. This design serves as a visual bridge between the two brands, while we remain committed to preserving the spirit of AGGPRO. There is a lot of history behind the AGGPRO brand, which is why we opted against a complete rebrand,” he enlightens.

As we approach the end of our conversation, Steve highlights another important matter for AGGPRO: the increasing customer demand for more sustainable solutions. “At Hillhead 2022, sustainability was a major buzzword, but the industry was slow to adopt it. However, it is starting to change now. For example, we recently supplied an electric Jonsson jaw crusher to a major blue-chip company. Partnering with Jonsson has been particularly beneficial, as they have pioneered the electrification of jaw crushers, screeners, and cones for over 40 years. This innovation was driven by the need to adapt to the unique conditions of their manufacturing location in Sweden, where equipment is designed for Scandinavian rock and large, remote sites. Unlike many in the industry, who adapted from hydraulic diesel ranges, Jonsson has always focused on electrification. In the British static plant market, there is now a strong case for replacing traditional static plants with high-output, high-quality mobile equipment. These machines come equipped with integrated software, control systems, and full JPS telematics.

“Moreover, the outputs from Jonsson and GIPO equipment now match those of static plants. The designs have evolved, making machines more movable and modular, which brings significant advantages. For example, since they are powered by electric gensets, fuel usage is minimal. We recently deployed a Jonsson L130 to a customer in Scotland, providing excellent tonnage with low fuel usage. We are seeing an increased demand for dual power options, which is driven by the fact that many tenders for our customer base are beginning to make sustainability a prerequisite. This requirement will ultimately drive change within the industry. However, we are not merely adapting to this trend; we already have tried, tested, and proven electrified equipment in the field, and we are ready to meet this demand,” he concludes.

With its superior service, diverse equipment portfolio, and dedication to sustainable innovation, AGGPRO stands out as an industry leader.
