Breathing life into spaces, Arena Group is redefining temporary event infrastructure and permanent projects across the globe

When we attend large-scale events like the Olympics, Wimbledon, or even the coronation of King Charles III, we rarely stop to consider the infrastructure making these events a reality. Working behind the scenes at exactly these types of events, Arena Group is a global company specialising in the design, delivery, and management of temporary and permanent structures for major sporting, entertainment, and cultural events, as well as permanent facilities in the real estate and construction sectors.

Founded over 30 years ago in the UK, Arena has evolved significantly through both organic growth and a series of strategic acquisitions. Today, the business operates in four key regions – Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East – and supports a range of iconic events including sporting, cultural celebrations, industry exhibitions, and corporate activations with a range of innovative structures, seating, interior fit out, and construction services.  a building with branding for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

“Historically, we’ve delivered structures on a temporary basis, but we’re now also offering longer-term structures via our modular division,” opens Jonathan Eveleigh, Business Development Director. “Our Arena Modular division was established via the support of a long-term association with a developer in the UAE, for whom we completed a successful project. The original intention was for the structure to remain in place for the month of Ramadan, but it was so successful that our client requested the structure stay in place for a longer time. This specific structure is still in place even today, eight years later.

“The Arena Modular division offers two core products: Arena Super Deck (ASD), a modular construction system, and Showblock, an architecturally designed, prefabricated system. While they were initially used for temporary structures, both ASD and Showblock can now also be used as permanent spaces. We also provide pre-engineered modular tented structures, overlay services, and our in-house design studio, which includes architects, interior designers, and exhibition stylists, offering bespoke solutions and advice for commercial and governmental events.”

Arena undertakes significant projects all over the world, making it difficult to pinpoint and highlight just a couple of examples. “We maintain a strong relationship and longstanding involvement with a number of major sporting events and organisations such as the Wimbledon tennis event in the UK, the Olympic games, having delivered several elements of the London, Tokyo, and Paris Games; several Formula One racing and golf events across the globe,” Jonathan reveals. “These events showcase Arena’s ability to deliver under pressure, innovate in design, and scale operations globally while maintaining the quality and client satisfaction demanded by these projects and events.

“In the Middle East, we’ve worked on a number of activations for ‘Saudi Seasons’, which includes huge concerts and football matches, as well as niche events like animé parties, poetry readings, gaming festivals, and even circus shows on ice, and the ‘Clash of the Dunes’ boxing rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz in Riyadh. In the UK, we’ve worked on prestigious royal events, including the late Queen of England’s 90th birthday celebrations and the recent coronation of King Charles III.

“While no two projects are the same, the critical elements of speed, efficiency, and quality are always at the forefront,” he adds. “We don’t treat any of these elements as competing forces, and although they are interdependent, we believe that by building smart and embedding quality throughout the operation, we can deliver projects on time and to high standards. To deliver our end-to-end provision of services from initial concept design to final handover, we rely on a combination of well-proven systems, experienced project management teams, and robust logistics planning. We encourage early stakeholder involvement, and our continued investment in innovative construction methodology allows us to execute projects quickly while meeting high standards of safety, design aesthetics, and functionality.”

“In terms of acquisitions, our goal is to complement our core strengths with companies that share our commitment to excellence, client service, and innovation. Recent acquisitions have been instrumental in transforming Arena from a regional event infrastructure provider to a truly global full-service partner delivering projects for some of the world’s most iconic events.”

On the topic of acquisitions, we ask Jonathan about Arena’s most recent acquisition of Maestra, a leading build specialist for premium events and exhibitions. “The acquisition of Maestra was driven by a shared vision for excellence, particularly in our interiors and structure portfolio, as well as our desire to enhance our creative and technical capabilities in the Middle East and beyond,” Jonathan shares. “Maestra boasts a strong reputation for high-quality production, bespoke solutions, and project delivery, and its services perfectly complement Arena’s infrastructure offering and capabilities, strengthening our position as a leading provider of comprehensive event solutions under one roof.

“The acquisition of Maestra also included ‘Showblock’, an innovative modular structure company. Stadium Solutions, a stadium design company, was completed in 2023. Both businesses were started in the UK but we’re rolling out their services across the globe, and we’re expanding Stadium Solutions into Saudi Arabia in 2026.”

In 2025, Arena itself was acquired by Modon, fuelling its growth even further. Jonathan comments: “Our acquisition by Modon has enhanced our growth and development ambitions, which are to provide a world-leading offering in each of our four regions, to strengthen our profile in the global events industry, and to expand our existing capabilities with new products and services.”

As our conversation closes, talk turns to the future. “Our current focus is to continue integrating Maestro into the overall business, aligning our teams and processes to leverage synergies and provide a more comprehensive end-to-end event solution,” Jonathan shares. “We’re also planning how to execute projects in 2026 and beyond, continuing to combine modular structures with our seating, fencing, and overlay services for major events across the globe.

“This vision is dependent on four key pillars. Firstly, we strive to offer a global reach with local expertise, and we want to be the go-to partner for major events anywhere in the world. This means expanding our footprint in strategic markets, particularly the Middle East, North America, and Asia, while continuing to strengthen our presence in established regions like the UK and Europe. The second pillar is a fully integrated turnkey offering, delivered via the combination of businesses and brands under the Arena umbrella but providing clients with a single point of contact.

“Next is our commitment to sustainability as we want to be industry leaders in sustainable event infrastructure. Our flexible systems are reusable and relocatable, and we’ve adopted greener logistics and materials solutions to promote further sustainability. Lastly, people and culture are crucial to maintaining our market leading position. We want to remain a place where the best talent wants to work, and one that offers career development and empowers teams through a culture of collaboration and accountability.”

Summarising his thoughts, Jonathan concludes: “Arena Group is evolving into the world’s most trusted provider of fully integrated, sustainable infrastructure, delivering at the highest level across every one of our markets.”
