HOCHTIEF has won the contract for the refurbishment of a listed historical monument comprising four office buildings in Berlin, with a total volume of around €90m.
The building construction unit HOCHTIEF Building will execute the project as total construction manager. The client is the federal state of Berlin.
The contract comprises the extensive, complete refurbishment of an 18-storey high-rise building and three interconnected six-storey buildings. The construction works commenced in November 2020 and are scheduled for completion in spring 2023. The state of Berlin will use the administrative buildings itself again from mid-2023.
“HOCHTIEF has extensive experience in the careful redesign of historical buildings. When refurbishing this office complex, we will bring in our technical know-how as early as in the planning phase,” says Thilo Warlich, Manager of the Berlin branch of HOCHTIEF Infrastructure Building.
