Colin Briscoe Construction, a well-established civil engineering contractor, has entered administration after more than three decades in operation. Founded in 1993 by Colin Briscoe, the company became a trusted name in the North West, working across multiple infrastructure sectors.

The firm built its reputation on delivering essential projects for utility, water, and highways clients, with contract values reaching up to £2 million. It also expanded its expertise to serve industrial sectors, harbours, ports, and coastal developments. In recent years, the company had diversified further, taking on building works for local councils and the National Trust.

Insolvency specialist Leonard Curtis has been appointed to oversee the administration of Colin Briscoe Construction. The company’s most recent accounts indicated a workforce of 25 employees, whose future now remains uncertain as the administration process unfolds.

Colin Briscoe himself was widely recognised for his contributions to the industry. Four years ago, he received a lifetime achievement award from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association, acknowledging his significant impact on regional construction.

As the company ceases trading, the focus now shifts to the potential impact on ongoing projects, employees, and subcontractors who relied on the firm’s operations.
