Taggart Homes
A warm welcome
Taggart Homes has been designing and building quality houses since 1989 and is based in Derry, Northern Ireland and Birmingham, England
Founded by two brothers, company namesakes Michael and John Taggart, Taggart Homes remains a family run company to this day. Over the years, it has built almost over five million square feet of high quality housing across the UK and Ireland, always maintaining its ability to embrace innovation and remain flexible and agile, so that emerging trends can be espoused and new approaches adopted.
Over the years since its inception, Taggart Homes has acquired extensive expertise across the gamut of the residential development process – including site procurement, planning and development design, house design, construction and sales. Reflecting the success that Taggart Homes has experienced in the residential sector are the significant awards with which it has been honoured with since it was created. Examples include being crowned winner of 2018-2019 Best Residential Development and the Best Development Marketing in both the prestigious Salice UK Property Awards, and the International Property Awards, as well as Home Builder of the Year 2018 (Northern Ireland).
It was Taggart Homes’ Coralmount development in Derry that was singled out for the UK Property Awards, and this deluxe gated location comprising six individually designed homes is situated in one of Derry’s most sought-after postcodes. The luxurious nature of these homes is what sets them apart from the competition – but this focus on the finest quality finishes is also one of the overall signatures of Taggart Homes, as the company prides itself on constructing houses that include opulent features as standard. At Coralmount for example, each home had its own style, with structures such as copper roofs, orangeries, pergolas, walled gardens and outdoor fireplaces setting them apart from the norm. The homes created a buzz in the market when the scheme was launched and illustrate how much thought and consideration Taggart puts into each of its projects.
Alongside the work it has underway in Northern Ireland (in addition to Coralmount, it is also operating on Barleyfields and Oak Country Manor) Taggart Homes is bringing its luxury touch to England, at Annesley in Nottinghamshire, Somerby in Leicestershire, and Carterton in West Oxfordshire. This later development, Linden Gardens, is valued at £15 million, and is progressing on track, with completion due in late 2021. Comprising of 32 semi-detached and detached family homes, with eight different property types, the development will offer two bed apartments, three and four bed semi-detached homes and three, four and five bed detached homes, all of which will be finished to the finest quality with high spec fixtures and fittings and landscaped gardens.
Discussing the new Linden Gardens development, co-founder and chief executive officer of Taggart Homes, Michael Taggart, pointed out that the location for this particular project is a real selling point, nestled as it is in West Oxfordshire, next to a country park, and with open fields beyond. “It is ideal for families and commuters due to being in the close vicinity of major road and rail routes,” he added. An additional bonus for the site when it comes to family life, is the fact that Linden Gardens is in the catchment area of many in-demand primary and secondary schools and is a short drive away from a range of locations for days out.
It is clear that Linden Gardens ticks the box for ‘location, location, location’ – and this is then reinforced by the homes themselves, which – as with all properties by Taggart Homes – have been designed and built to the highest standards to provide the ‘best possible product on the market’ in Michael’s words. This stretches ‘from the layout and design, to the workmanship and materials used for the build, interior fixtures and fittings and surrounding landscaped spaces.’
Linden Gardens carries all the hallmarks of a Taggart Homes undertaking – luxury homes being constructed by expert tradesmen, who have studied the practicalities of living spaces and combine this with over 30 years’ experience in selecting and sourcing materials which are both practical and attractive.
Not content with creating ‘dream homes’ for its customers, when discussing Linden Gardens Michael also highlighted the importance of ‘building communities’ and this ethos is reflected in a new venture from Taggart Homes, back in Northern Ireland. Its new campaign – Destination Derry – is powered by Taggart Homes in collaboration with local business, community, and government bodies. It involves everyone working together to promote Derry’s strengths to the outside world, delivering practical support and information required by those who plan to return or relocate in the area and to those who already call Derry their home.
When Taggart Homes launched Coralmount it brought attention to Derry and now with this venture, the company can go further to promote some of the fantastic qualities of the city, which attracts companies and visitors from all over the world. With the current situation of the pandemic and changing working conditions, our homes and towns are becoming refuges like perhaps never before, and on the Destination Derry website – www.destinationderry.com – Michael observed that and he and his collaborators are keen to highlight why people should consider Derry for their base. “With remote working a key factor in our future, we believe the time is right for people to Live, Learn, Work and Invest in our region. An area that is constantly evolving, where people will find a warm welcome, an easy affordable lifestyle, steeped in culture and beauty,” he said.
