Waxman Group combines decades of expertise with family values

Waxman Group is a family-run business with almost 70 years of experience in distribution across various industries. Managing Director, Sam Waxman, shares an overview of the business: “We were founded in 1959. Since then, we’ve built a reputation as a trusted supplier of high-quality products, evolving over the decades to meet market demands. Today, the Waxman Group is made up of several specialist divisions, including Waxman Energy, Waxman Ceramics, and Waxman Fibres, each focused on providing industry-leading solutions in their respective fields.

“Our expertise spans from renewable energy solutions and battery storage to high-end tile distribution, always with a commitment to quality, innovation, and strong customer relationships. As a third-generation business, we combine decades of experience with a forward-thinking approach, ensuring we remain at the forefront of our industries.”

Waxman Group facilitiesSam continues, expanding on the range of products and services the business offers: “We specialise in the distribution of high-quality products across two key sectors: renewable energy and battery storage, and premium tiling solutions. Waxman Energy is a leading distributor of solar PV panels, inverters, mounting systems, and advanced battery storage solutions. As the demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we provide our customers with cutting-edge technology that enhances energy efficiency, reduces reliance on the grid, and supports a more sustainable future. Our focus is on supplying high-performance products while offering expert advice, training, and technical support to installers and stockists across the UK.

“To further support our customers, we’ve introduced the Eturnity system, an innovative project design tool that streamlines the planning and quotation process for solar and battery storage installations. By simplifying complex calculations and creating professional, customer-friendly proposals, Eturnity makes it easier than ever for installers to design efficient, tailored energy solutions, saving time and improving overall project accuracy.

“Waxman Ceramics is divided into two specialist sectors: architectural and residential. We understand that the needs of each are incredibly different, which is why we have dedicated teams specialising in both areas. Our architectural division works closely with architects, specifiers, and designers to provide premium tiling solutions for large-scale commercial projects. From high-traffic public spaces to bespoke luxury developments, we offer expert guidance and a carefully curated selection of durable, design-led tiles to meet the demands of complex architectural specifications.

“Our residential division focuses on supplying retailers with high-end, aspirational tile collections that cater to homeowners looking for style, quality, and practicality. We stay ahead of trends to ensure our partners can offer standout designs that appeal to modern living spaces.

“Beyond product distribution, we take a customer-first approach, providing in-depth industry expertise, tailored training, and ongoing support. Whether it’s guiding large-scale architectural projects or helping retailers curate on-trend collections, our goal is to empower our partners with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.”

Commitment to quality

Sam then goes on to outline the benefits that two new warehouses are providing the business: “Our recent investment is a strategic move to support the continued growth of Waxman Group across both our renewable energy and ceramics divisions. As demand for our products increased, we recognised the need to expand our storage and distribution capabilities to better serve our customers.

“These new facilities allow us to hold greater stock levels, ensuring faster turnaround times and improved product availability. For Waxman Energy, this means we can meet the rising demand for solar PV and battery storage solutions more efficiently, particularly as the industry scales up to meet net-zero targets. The additional space enables us to expand our range and cater to both our architectural and residential customers with even greater flexibility.

“Beyond storage, these warehouses also enhance our operational efficiency, allowing us to streamline logistics, improve supply chain management, and ultimately provide a better service to our partners. This investment reflects our long-term commitment to growth, reliability, and maintaining our position as a leading distributor in our sectors.”

The business has made several other commitments in the pursuit of continued growth, including the incorporation of a new e-commerce element to the ceramic side of the business. Sam shares more details: “We’ve built a strong reputation as a trusted distributor, and our focus has always been on providing high-quality products and expert support to our partners. As the market evolves, we see an exciting opportunity to strengthen the Waxman brand by increasing consumer awareness and engagement through our new e-commerce platform.

“This move is not about competing with our valued retail partners but rather about complementing the existing market. By establishing a direct-to-consumera solar PV system being installed on a roof presence, we can enhance brand recognition, which in turn benefits our retailers by driving more demand and awareness for Waxman products. Our goal is to position Waxman Ceramics at the forefront of the UK tile industry, offering consumers inspiration, education, and access to our carefully curated ranges.

“The UK tile industry has faced significant disruption in recent years, and we want to be a source of stability, both for our customers and our partners. By expanding our digital presence, we are reinforcing our commitment to quality, innovation, and long-term growth, ensuring Waxman Ceramics continues to lead the way in both distribution and design.”

Driving success together

Sam then reflects on the factors that have contributed to the company receiving the Wholesaler/Distributor of the Year award from Solar and Storage Live: “We’re incredibly proud to have received this award. This recognition reflects the hard work, commitment, and innovation that the entire team at Waxman Energy puts into supporting our customers.

“What differentiates Waxman Energy from our competitors is our deep understanding of the market and our unwavering commitment to quality and customer support. We don’t just supply products; we partner with our customers to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. Whether it’s providing expert advice, offering training, or equipping our partners with the latest technology, we are always focused on adding value at every stage of the process.”

Sam concludes by outlining the company’s ambitions for the coming years: “Ultimately, in five years, we hope to have grown our business in a sustainable and responsible way, with a strong reputation for customer service, innovation, and a commitment to delivering high-quality products. We want to be the go-to partner for both professionals and consumers in our sectors, leading the industry and setting new standards for excellence. At Waxman Group, we’re deeply committed to being a true partner to our customers. Whether it’s through innovative products, expert support, or helping customers navigate change, our focus remains on driving success together.”
