With a strong emphasis on sustainability, Ivegate is redefining what it means to be a full-service contractor

Recognised for innovation, experience, and technical expertise, Ivegate Limited (Ivegate) provides value where it’s needed most. Founded in 2011, the business was initially established under the name G&H Sustainability, undertaking a wide range of renewable energy projects and offering a variety of building services across the UK. Following years of sustained success, G&H Sustainability was bought out from the G&H Group and, in 2018, rebranded to Ivegate Limited. Since then, Ivegate has transformed into a full-service, multidisciplinary building services engineering contractor, providing a comprehensive scope of electrical, mechanical, renewable, and intelligent energy solutions across a diverse breadth of market sectors. The company has more than doubled its annual turnover since 2021 and continues to expand and evolve with the needs of the industry, all whilst upholding its core values of quality, reliability, and integrity.

Construction & Civil Engineering sits down with Dominic Ford, Operations Director, and Joshua Cooper, Commercial Director, to learn more about the company’s expansive service offering and how its commitment to exceptional delivery continues to drive strategic growth.

“Ivegate stands out by delivering complex, multi-disciplinary solutions under one roof with a responsive, hands-on approach. Clients seek partners who take ownership of outcomes, and our integrated model provides this added value,” Joshua begins. “We combine building services expertise with renewable energy, battery storage, and smart grid capabilities to deliver solutions that meet current needs and support clients’ long-term operational and sustainability goals. Our core services include electrical installation, mechanical systems such as heating, air conditioning, and ventilation, as well as renewables, battery storage, EV infrastructure, and smart energy systems. In addition to traditional building services, we provide commercial solar PV, battery energy storage systems, and Smart Grid Management solutions to help clients monitor and control their energy use.”

“These services are integrated, not delivered in isolation. Integration is fundamental to our operations,” Dominic continues. “Our service divisions collaborate from the outset of each project, ensuring design decisions reflect delivery experience and that sustainability and energy strategies align with installation and operational requirements. We achieve this through shared leadership, integrated project teams, and consistent systems. Regular cross-division reviews and early contractor involvement help us identify risks early, optimise designs, and deliver improved outcomes for our clients.”

This integrated approach has been fundamental to differentiating Ivegate in a competitive market. By remaining dedicated to hands-on leadership, people development, and operational excellence, the company has nurtured robust long-term relationships and succeeded in winning repeat business, and thereby, undertaken a multitude of exciting and innovative projects. One recent project was for BT at its Four New Bailey office in Manchester. This project was a major multi-million pound office fit-out, with Ivegate taking responsibility for delivering the remainder of the scheme following ISG’s administration, showcasing the company’s high level of skill, professionalism, mobility, and commitment to its clients.

“The Four New Bailey project in Manchester was a landmark scheme for BT, forming the final phase of its Better Workplace Programme,” Dominic elaborates. “Ivegate was initially engaged to deliver a comprehensive package of building services works on behalf of ISG, supporting the transformation of the office environment and enabling occupation across the remaining floors. At the time of the sudden and unfortunate ISG administration, the project entered a critical phase in which continuity, leadership, and confidence were essential. With strong support from the client and their professional team, Ivegate mobilised quickly, stabilised the site, and took full ownership of delivering the remainder of the scheme as principal contractor. This meant re-establishing clear lines of communication, coordinating with the client and consultant team, and working with the supply chain to maintain momentum.

“Despite challenges, the project achieved practical completion on the final phase, allowing BT colleagues to move into the remaining floors and take full operational control of the space. This was a strong example of our ability to perform under pressure, demonstrate resilience, and deliver certainty on a high-profile project, qualities that are increasingly important to our clients.”

As Ivegate continues to expand its service offerings, it remains committed to its sustainability focus and helping its clients to drive their own environmental efforts. “Sustainability is now a core operational requirement for our clients, and we help translate this need into practical, deliverable solutions. Our expertise in solar PV, battery energy storage, and Smart Grid Management enables clients to reduce carbon emissions, enhance energy resilience, and achieve greater visibility and control over energy use,” Joshua explains. “By integrating these technologies with traditional building services, we design and deliver energy strategies tailored to actual building use. Our solutions prioritise long-term performance, whether by maximising on-site generation, managing peak demand with battery storage, or enabling smarter grid interaction. This integrated approach embeds sustainability into each project from the outset.”

Investing in people and processes

Looking to the future, Ivegate’s priorities for 2026 are centred around sustainable, controlled growth and strengthening core capabilities, with a focus on further enhancing energy and sustainability offerings. By continuing to invest in its people, systems, and delivery processes, the company is well-positioned to support its ever-growing and more complex project portfolio whilst maintaining the agility and responsiveness that its clients expect.

“Over the next three to five years, we aim for Ivegate to be recognised as a leading multi-service engineering and energy partner, trusted to deliver complex projects in the commercial, industrial, education, and energy sectors. We will continue to expand while upholding our values of hands-on leadership, technical excellence, and collaborative delivery,” Dominic reveals, optimistic for the future ahead. “We see a significant opportunity to support the UK’s transition to a low-carbon economy by providing clients with integrated, future-ready energy solutions. For us, success is defined by the quality of our work, strong client relationships, and our ability to attract and retain talented professionals committed to long-term careers with Ivegate.”

“The foundation of our achievements is the commitment and resilience demonstrated by our personnel. Whether delivering under challenging circumstances, adopting new technologies, or supporting clients during periods of change, our teams consistently meet these demands,” Joshua says, concluding our conversation.

“We are proud of our accomplishments to date and remain optimistic about future opportunities. By maintaining a focus on quality, collaboration, and innovation, we believe Ivegate is well positioned to continue delivering value to clients and contributing meaningfully to the built environment and the energy transition.”
