Iconic Manhattan transformation

The owner of Langham Place, New York, Fifth Avenue, has appointed Turner & Townsend to provide project support services for the multi-million pound upgrade of the iconic Manhattan landmark.

The refurbishment – part of a company strategy to enhance the hotel’s reputation for chic, contemporary style – comprises a soft refurbishment of the 214 guest rooms across its 22 floors. The consultancy’s appointment follows its successful support in the remodelling and delivery of the third floor conference room suites and fourth floor gym. The project, which is being carried out while the hotel remains open to guests, also includes modernising the back of house operations and main entrance lobby area together with a new spa. The refresh of the five-star hotel is expected to be finished by summer 2016, in time for a programme of key events taking place in New York.
